Fall Maintenance Tips: How To Keep Your Vehicle Healthy

Fall Maintenance TipsKeeping your Mitsubishi running at peak efficiency is a relatively easy task. Staying up to date with routine and seasonal maintenance is the key to an enjoyable ownership experience. Fall is right around the corner which means it’s time to start checking maintenance items off your list. We here at Randall Mitsubishi have a few fall maintenance tips that will help you properly prepare your Mitsubishi for cooler weather.

Oil

It pays to change your oil according to the manufacturer-suggested schedule in your owner’s manual. Oil is responsible for lubricating, cooling, and protecting vital engine components. The hot summer weather will put the oil to work. Make sure to get an oil change before fall to ensure your engine continues operating at peak efficiency!

Lights

Light bulbs can burn out at any time of the year which makes consistently checking once a month a necessity. You should go the extra mile and clean the lenses in preparation for fall. Make sure to replace any dead bulbs for maximum safety and visibility, especially at night.

Battery

It’s a good idea to inspect your Mitsubishi’s battery once a month. Keep an eye out for any abnormalities, like bulges and lacerations. It’s a good idea to scrape the corrosion off of the posts as well. Keep in mind cooler weather means the battery needs more juice to start the car. Older batteries should be replaced before cold weather arrives.
