How to Beat the Winter Blues

beat the winter blue

Each year millions of Americans suffer from Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD), which is a type of depression that is most common during the winter. This is often called the winter blues and is caused by colder temperatures and a lack of sunlight. If you are feeling a bit melancholy now that the holidays are over, here are three ways to regain a positive perspective.

  1. Brighten up your life. If you miss the illumination of the holiday lights, go ahead and leave some up. Add some strings of lights to your home decorations or your work cubicle. You can also try wearing brighter colors.
  2. Have fun. One good way to lift your spirits is to have some fun. Winter is a perfect time to head outdoors here in Texas. Go for a hike, visit the zoo, or visit any other favorite spot that you would normally visit during warmer temperatures.
  3. Make some plans. Start anticipating warmer weather by planning where you want to go and what you want to do when the weather shifts. Looking forward to something will help you to feel more excited about waking up each morning.

2018 Mitsubishi Outlander Earns Top Safety Pick Rating

Mitsubishi Outlander IIHS top safety pick rating

We all want a vehicle that will help keep us safe. That is why each year the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) tests new vehicles to determine their crashworthiness and other safety factors. Recently, the IIHS tested the 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander’s protective features and awarded it with a Top Safety Pick rating.

This is the fifth year in a row the Outlander has achieved this rating thanks to its superb performance during crash tests as well as its advanced technology. It earned the top “good” rating in all crash tests, a “superior” rating for front crash prevention, and an “acceptable” rating for its innovative headlight option.

“Thanks to our advanced safety features and technology, the Mitsubishi Outlander continues to achieve IIHS safety ratings for the fifth consecutive year,” said Don Swearingen, executive vice president and chief operating officer of Mitsubishi Motors North America. “The Outlander remains a leader in reliability and dependability, and we are proud to receive this recognition by one of the most reputable organizations in the industry.”

The Outlander offers numerous defensive features including automatic high beams, Adaptive Cruise Control, Forward Collision Mitigation, Lane Departure Warning, Lane Change Assist, and Blind Spot Warning with Rear Cross Traffic Alert.

Great Gifts for Car Lovers

Gifts for Car Lovers

Buying a gift for the car lover in your life can be tricky, when there’s such a profusion of auto-related merchandise on the market. We’ve put together some great ideas for gifts for car lovers that will help you pick the perfect present.

Car accessories are an important part of a gearhead’s life. They make driving more convenient and comfortable and add a touch of style to the car. One practical gift is a cell phone holder they can attach to the dashboard, which lets them use their phone’s GPS or music streaming apps more safely.

If your car loving friend is also a dog lover, consider a seat protector that will help protect their upholstery from fur when their dog joins them on trips.

Sometimes car aficionados are also photographers. If you want to splurge a little, try a dashboard camera for your adventurous friend.

You might also want to think about what tools your car enthusiast needs. You can go for a complete tool set or a cleaning and waxing kit.  Another suggestion is to get them an air impact wrench or an air compressor.

These are just a few ideas for what to get a car fan for Christmas, so check out more here, or give us a call at Randall Mitsubishi!
