The last Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution Final Edition has finally been sold, which means the legendary sports car is no longer on the market. Fortunately, if you didn’t have the chance to grab one while they were still available, you might be able to get an older model instead. A 1995 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution II RS is currently on the market.

The classic 1995 sports car boasts just 46,600 miles on the odometer and has one owner in its 21-year-long history. The owner kept track of the car’s service history in a log book, along with the mileage.

The Lancer Evo II RS, a modified version of the standard Evo II, brings a performance-driven engine tuned to pump out 256 hp, wider tires, 16-inch rims, an aerodynamic design, and 30% stiffer chassis, among other changes.

The seller, a dealership in Hong Kong, is asking for approximately $19,000 for the classic car. Don’t fret about the location though. The 1995 Lancer Evo II RS comes with an export certificate as well.

If you’ve ever wanted to own a classic car and have a fair amount of money lying around, this is your chance!

Mitsubishi Reveals the New 2017 Mirage G4 Sedan

2017 Mirage G4 Sedan

The new 2017 Mirage G4 is going to give you more for less!

Back on March 24th, Mitsubishi became the talk of the 2016 New York International Auto Show, when the Japanese automaker finally revealed its all-new 2017 Mirage G4 sedan.

The Mirage G4 is basically just the sedan version of the Mirage hatchback, and it even comes with the same 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine rated at 78 horsepower. Consumers will have the choice between a five-speed manual or continuously variable transmission (CVT).

While the Mirage hatchback’s trunk offers 17.2 cubic feet of storage space, that number drops to just 12.3-cubic feet for the G4 sedan, but what’s a loss of five cubic feet when you gain the attractive exterior styling of the sedan version? The 2017 Mirage G4 is also compatible with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, which are premium features not typically found in a vehicle that carries a starting MSRP of $14,830.

Consumers should also be happy to hear the Mirage G4 sedan will be backed by Mitsubishi’s strong warranties, which includes a 10-year/100,000 mile powertrain warranty, a fully transferable 5-year/60,000 mile new vehicle limited warranty, 5-year/unlimited mile roadside assistance, and a 7-year/100,000 mile anti-corrosion perforation limited warranty.

“A few years ago we entered the subcompact segment with the Mirage hatchback and its popularity with consumers has grown every year with its combination of top fuel economy, attractive pricing and one of the industry’s best new car warranties. The new Mirage G4 repeats that value equation in a four-door sedan package,” said MMNA executive vice president, Don Swearingen. “The Mirage hatchback and now the Mirage G4 sedan will form a formidable one-two punch in the subcompact segment.”

The 2017 Mitsubishi Mirage G4 sedan is scheduled to on sale in the United States later this spring. Tell us what you think of Mitsubishi’s new compact sedan in the comment section below or visit us at Randall Mitsubishi in San Angelo, TX.

Mitsubishi Aims to Conquer the US Market with the 2017 Outlander PHEV

2017 Outlander PHEV

The new Outlander PHEV has everything the Outlander has and more!

After countless delays, Mitsubishi finally revealed the 2017 Outlander PHEV at last month’s New York International Auto Show.

The Outlander PHEV doesn’t look much different from the normal Outlander model, except it wears different badges and also comes equipped with a charging port, but the PHEV version is actually much different when it comes to the vehicle’s mechanics.

While the regular Outlander model offers the choice between either a 2.4-liter four-cylinder or V6 engine, the PHEV SUV comes with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder petrol engine, as well as two additional electric motors, with one located on each axle. The 2017 Outlander PHEV also features a regenerative braking system that brings more power to its 12-kWh lithium-ion battery.

The new Outlander PHEV also features a unique version of the company’s Super All-Wheel Control system, and there are three distinct drive systems that the SUV can automatically switch between, depending on road and weather conditions: EV, which only uses electric power; series hybrid, which uses electric power with generator operation; and parallel hybrid, which uses power from the gasoline engine and the two electric motors.

Other noteworthy features available for the 2017 Outlander PHEV include blind spot monitoring with rear cross traffic alert and a multi-around view camera monitor, as well as Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility.

“What makes the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV so special is that it offers the best of both worlds with a balance of electric efficiency and long-range practicality,” said Don Swearingen, executive vice president, MMNA. “Mitsubishi put its engineering prowess and knowledge to work to create a vehicle that meets the demand of a growing number of consumers who need a car that is capable and environmentally friendly. The Outlander PHEV will offer a high electric range and combined miles per gallon (MPG).”

While Mitsubishi stopped short of providing exact fuel economy numbers, the Japanese automaker did say the new Outlander PHEV will reach US dealerships later this fall.

Mitsubishi Sales Reach New Milestone

Mitsubishi Sales

2015 was the best year for Mitsubishi sales since 2008 and it looks like that momentum will continue in 2016!

Last year proved to be an exceptional one for Mitsubishi in the United States. From nearly every angle, the automaker showed a growing presence and even reached a major milestone.

Mitsubishi arrived in the United States 34 years ago. Back then, the automaker offered three different models: the Starion, Tredia, and Cordia. It’s been quite a ride since then but late in 2015, in December, US vehicle sales reached five million.

Mitsubishi’s success in 2015 went a long way in helping to achieve that particular milestone. In 2015, Mitsubishi sales were up 22.8% from the year before. That registers as Mitsubishi’s most successful year since 2008. The Mitsubishi Outlander Sport and Mitsubishi CUVs in general are responsible for much of the recent sales success.

Will they keep it up? Don Swearingen, executive VP, Mitsubishi Motors North America, thinks so. He said, “Our current sales momentum combined with a technologically innovative product pipeline primes Mitsubishi for great success in the U.S. for many years to come.”

We’re looking forward to a successful 2016 for Mitsubishi. Stop by Randall Mitsubishi today to learn more about Mitsubishi’s full 2016 lineup of vehicles!

Model Loyalty Award

The Mitsubishi Mirage makes loyal customers with its excellent fuel economy and affordable pricing.

We at Randall Mitsubishi are proud to offer the Mitsubishi Mirage, which was recognized by the IHS Automotive for the highest model loyalty for 2015.

This makes the second consecutive model year that the 5-door-sub-compact has been recognized with a model loyalty award in the Non-Luxury Traditional Sub-Compact Car Segment.

The IHS Automotive loyalty performance is determined when a household that owns a particular make/model returns to by the same make/model.

Don Swearingen, executive vice president of MMNA stated, “The Mitsubishi Mirage is one of the true hidden gems in the automotive industry and this IHS award validates that claim.” He also discusses how faithful owners understand and appreciate the Mirage, which offers leading fuel economy, attractive pricing, and a great vehicle warranty.

Last year produced record-breaking sales with an increase of nearly 30 percent. This boost in sales is encouraging when considering the new 2017 Mitsubishi Mirage. The new model has a refreshed exterior design, improved performance, and incorporates Apple CarPlay and AndroidAuto.

Mitsubishi’s Crossover Lineup Takes the Stage

Mitsubishi's Crossover Lineup

Mitsubishi plans to improve their crossover lineup over the next few years to help reach more customers in North America!

Mitsubishi was one of many automakers to feel the wrath of the 2008 recession, but the Japanese automaker is expecting to turn it all around this year. 2007 marked the last year the automaker sold over 100,000 vehicles in the United States. The automaker expects to hit that milestone in 2016 and mark the second year of profit in North America in a row.  To do so, it’s setting most of its focus on a single segment: crossovers.

“We’ve got a laser-like focus on CUVs right now, and we’re certainly committed to this direction,” MMNA vice president of sales Ken Konieczka told The Detroit News. He declined to predict sales up to 2020.

Over the next five years, Mitsubishi expects to improve its entire lineup, centering on its crossover lineup.

Mitsubishi’s crossover lineup isn’t the largest, but it does feature quality vehicles that undergo serious development and improvement year after year. The 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander, for example, comes in with over 100 changes from the previous model.

As for the automaker’s plans, allow us here at Randall Mitsubishi to lay them out for you.

  • 2016: MirageG4 sedan (early summer), redesigned Outlander PHEV (late summer/early fall)
  • 2018: New crossover based off the 2015 eX concept.
  • 2019: Entirely new Outlander
  • 2020: Smaller Outlander Sport

All in all, there will be an addition or extra improvement to the brand’s crossover lineup for four of the next five years. That’s sure to draw eyes and increase sales from around the world, let alone North America!

Mirage Rockford Fosgate

The special edition Mirage Rockford Fosgate is sure to turn heads and pack a punch with premium features!

The latest special edition model of the popular Mitsubishi Mirage is alive and well. A spinoff of the Mirage DE trim, it comes in at a price of $15,755. Named the Mitsubishi Mirage Rockford Fosgate Edition, this hatchback is set to take on the likes of high-end trims of the Chevy Spark, Ford Fiesta, and Mazda2.

The Mirage Rockford Fosgate Edition comes standard with an ecoPunch sound system, audio controls on the steering wheel, Bluetooth connectivity, cruise control, and much more. Featuring the 300-watt audio system, this affordable car is set to appeal to music lovers.

“Rockford Fosgate is one of the most recognized and coveted audio systems in the automotive industry and we’re excited to offer this package in a segment that doesn’t typically offer premium audio systems,” said Don Swearingen, Mitsubishi Motors North America executive VP.

The Mitsubishi Mirage is known as the most fuel-efficient car outside of the hybrid segment. It joined Mitsubishi’s lineup back in 2014.

The arrival of the high-end audio system in what is typically known as a budget friendly car is certainly something we didn’t expect—but surprises like this remind us why we love Mitsubishi so much.

Mitsubishi Will Showcase Its New Mitsubishi eX Concept in Tokyo

new Mitsubishi eX Concept

Mitsubishi has plans to show off an all-electric crossover in Tokyo! Ecofriendly is here to stay with Mitsubishi!

At the Tokyo Motor Show at the end of October, Mitsubishi will show case its new Mitsubishi eX concept, an all-electric compact crossover utility vehicle that Mitsubishi is calling a “next-generation EV system.”

Very little has been revealed about the eX concept so far, but it has been confirmed that it will have an electric powertrain, active safety systems, all-wheel drive, and even an automated driving system. The previews of the eX so far suggest that Mitsubishi will reveal the final version of the eX at the Tokyo Motor Show instead of a pre-production prototype.

Mitsubishi says the Tokyo Motor Show will feature a panel display telling the story of Mitsubishi’s fifty years of research in developing electric vehicles. Ecofriendly is the theme for Mitsubishi this year, as their other displays at the Tokyo Motor Show will revolve around new eco technologies, mini cars, and models powered by engines using clean diesel fuel.

Additionally, a driverless test vehicle will be featured at Smart Mobility City to show off Mitsubishi’s automated driving technology. It’s an exciting time for EV fans!
